Clark Arthur YEO – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Saturday August 22, 2015, shortly before 11 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to Highway 7/8 near Shakespeare, where a West bound Subaru Impreza was observed driving on the gravel and crossing the centre line.

The Subaru was stopped by a Perth County OPP officer in Shakespeare. The male driver displayed signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.

41-year-old Clark Arthur YEO of Whitby has been charged with “driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol”, and “driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on September 28, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle was towed and has been impounded for a period of seven days.

With all the messaging and examples of how dangerous this is along with the criminal aspect, it is unacceptable that the act still happens. The OPP will continue their patrols and regular RIDE programs to stop these drivers and maintain safe roadways in our communities. The public is encouraged to report impaired and erratic drivers. Calls can be made to police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
