(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron OPP officers responded to the intersection of Fulton Street and Dunlop Street in Clinton on July 27, 2012 at 8:09 p.m. for a report of a possible impaired driver.
Residents in the area reported to police a female driver drove her Ford Ranger pickup off the traveled portion of the road onto a front yard on Fulton Street. The vehicle came to a rest against a tree causing minor damage to the pickup. The concerned neighbours came out to check on the driver and observed her to be under the influence of alcohol. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and noted the female driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment.
Teresa JONES, 49, from Central Huron has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 milligrams of Alcohol. Her court date is scheduled for September 24, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
