Citizen Complaints Get Drunk Driving Allan Johnson Off The Road

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday July 31, 2012 shortly after 8:30 p.m. Perth County OPP officers in Mitchell were dispatched to a number of traffic complaints involving a car that had been driven unsafely in the downtown area.

Officers patrolled the area for the suspect car and located a vehicle matching the description driving west bound on Hwy 8, entering the village of Dublin. The older model Lincoln Town Car was pulled over and the driver was spoken to. The driver displayed obvious signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested and transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.

Allan Johnson (63) of Huron East has been charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicle’, and “operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood”. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on September 10, 2012, to answer to these charges. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.
