Citizen Call Results In Drunk Driving Charge For Nathan McCann

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Sunday September 23, 2012, before 4 a.m. Perth County OPP officers in Listowel were dispatched to the downtown area where a motorist reported seeing a vehicle drive in the wrong lanes.

Shortly thereafter a Perth County OPP officer located a vehicle matching the description on Hwy 23 south of Palmerston. The officer observed the vehicle weave in its lane and subsequently initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver the officer determined that the male driver had been drinking alcoholic beverages.

Nathan MCCANN (22) of Kitchener failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests at the Palmerston OPP Detachment. As a result he was charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicle”, and with “operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of blood alcohol”. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on October 31, 2012, to answer to these charges. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
