(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers arrested a 22 year old male early Saturday, June 8, 2013 for Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. Just before 2:00 a.m. the driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck was stopped on Courthouse Square for a sobriety and documentation check. Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath; both over the legal limit. Further checks revealed the driver held an expired driver’s licence.
Christopher MACADAM, 22, from Goderich has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence and Novice Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Above Zero. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 8, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
