(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce OPP is continuing to patrol the snowmobile trails of South Bruce County in an effort to improve the safety for authorized trail users. During the weekend of February 11th, 12th and 13th, 2011, officers logged 20.5 hours on the trails checking 69 snowmobiles and issuing 4 warnings.
On February 12th, 2011 at 7:31 pm, officers stopped a black Skidoo MXZ and found the operator to be a lifetime disqualified driver. 33 year old Christopher HAMMER of Port Elgin has been charged with Drive snow vehicle with licence suspended, Drive snow vehicle – no permit, Drive snow vehicle – no trail permit, Drive snow vehicle – no insurance and Drive disqualified. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on March 28th, 2011 to answer to the charges.
