(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On December 22, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 north of Sideroad 5, Township of Centre Wellington. The officer observed a male driving a car at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 130km/h.
32-year-old Christian VIOLANTE of Arthur has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on February 7, 2018. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
