Children Passengers Text Message Mother About Drunk Driver – 43 Year Old Arrested

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – In the early morning hours of April 7, 2016, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 402, near Mandaumin Road, in the Municipality of Plympton-Wyoming.

Passengers in the vehicle were concerned about how their father, the driver, was operating the vehicle. They texted their mother, who, contacted police.

Middlesex County OPP officers located the vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 402, east of Centre Road, in the Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc, Ontario.

A traffic stop was conducted, and it was determined the driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests.

As a result of the police investigation, a 43-year-old male from Woodstock, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired motor vehicle (alcohol), and care or control over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to appear in a London court to answer the charges.
