Chemicals Illegally Dumped In Markham

York Regional Police is appealing for witnesses after several containers of chemicals were illegally dumped in a residential area in Markham.

On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at approximately 9 a.m., police responded to a residence on Bishop Crescent in the area of Markham Road and 16th Avenue where a homeowner located containers of strange substances left on his property.

York Regional Police safely removed the material and determined there was no concern for public safety. The chemicals are believed to be commonly used in the manufacturing of illegal drugs.

Investigators believe that the material was dumped at the location on Bishop Drive sometime overnight on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Police are encouraging witnesses or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
