Man Charged with Firearm Offences CK15015921
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a search warrant in Wallaceburg.
In September 2010, the court imposed a weapons prohibition on the man for life.
Yesterday afternoon, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Dufferin Avenue. A Mossberg .22 caliber rifle and ammunition were seized. Officers also located methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.
A 34-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order, careless storage of a firearm and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Theft CK15015936
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a theft in Chatham.
Yesterday morning, the man stole a mountain bike that was parked in front of a business on St. Clair Street. The owner observed the man riding away on his bike and followed him. The man dumped the bike valued at $1300 on Galbraith Street and fled on foot. He was taken into custody in the rear yard of a residence in the area.
The 45-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK15015939
Yesterday morning, officers responded to several complaints of a man loitering around private properties and businesses. Around 11:15 a.m. officers located the intoxicated man and he was taken into custody for his own safety.
The 31-year-old Chatham man was held until sober and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
Traffic Enforcement CK15015962
Yesterday afternoon, members of the Traffic Unit conducted radar enforcement on Bearline Road in Dover Township.
Fifteen motorists were stopped and issued speeding tickets.
Stolen Trailer CK15016001
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding the theft of a trailer in Ridgetown.
Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a 2001 silver 6×12 enclosed trailer from a residence on Victoria Road. The trailer was last seen with Ontario licence plates K63 24P.
