Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – June 23, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 125 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Man Charged with Break and Enter CK15018358

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a break and enter in Chatham yesterday afternoon.

Sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. a man and woman attended a building on Thames Street. The man entered an apartment through an unlocked window and stole a TV, tools and jewelry. The woman entered another apartment and stole a wooden stained wagon. The man and woman left the area together with the stolen property.

Through investigation, police identified the man and woman responsible. Around 9:30 p.m. last night, officers located the man on Victoria Avenue and he was taken into custody.

The 27-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter, theft under $5000 and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held pending a bail hearing. Police continue to search for the woman.

Man Charged with Several Property Related Offences CK15018299

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a break and enter in Chatham last week.

On June 17, 2015, just before 4:00 a.m. the man forced his way into a business on Keil Drive and stole electronic items. The man fled prior to police arrival.

Yesterday morning, the business contacted police to report that they were receiving a GPS signal from one of the stolen cell phones. Through investigation, police located the stolen property and the man was taken into custody.

The 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter and six counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested from CKPS Wanted List CK15018410

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

This morning, around 7:30 a.m. a 35-year-old man wanted for intimidation and failing to comply turned himself into police headquarters. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15018320

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Park Avenue East near Queen Street in Chatham.

One driver was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. Damage was estimated at $3500.

A 34-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

The first pitch will be thrown at 12:00 p.m. at the baseball diamond near St. Clair College. Everyone is invited to come out and cheer on the teams.
