Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – June 18, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 104 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Man Arrested from CKPS Wanted List CK15017708

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft of a credit card, possession of a stolen credit card, use of a stolen credit card and fraud under $5000.

Yesterday morning, officers located the man in Blenheim and he was taken into custody. Upon being searched, the 19-year-old man of no fixed address was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was additionally charged with drug possession and transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15017709

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a second man wanted on an outstanding warrant related to the above incident. The man was also wanted for the offences of theft of a credit card, possession of a stolen credit card, use of a stolen credit card and fraud under $5000.

Yesterday morning, officers located the man in Blenheim and he was taken into custody. The 24-year-old Morpeth man was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested from CKPS Wanted List CK15017783

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants for carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of failing to attend court.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night, officers located the man. The 20-year-old Blenheim man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Assaulting Peace Officer CK15017727

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a business on King Street in Chatham in regards to a domestic dispute. The man fled the area prior to police arrival however he was located minutes later on William Street South. While speaking to the officer, the man produced a knife and methamphetamine from his backpack. Upon being taken into custody, the man became hostile and assaultive towards the officer which resulted in the man being pepper sprayed. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of a folding knife in his underwear.

The 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a peace officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession for the purposes of trafficking and four counts of failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK15017724

On June 11, 2015, the woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was to reside at a specific address on Erieau Road. On June 16, 2015, police received information that the woman was not living at that address.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman in Chatham and she was taken into custody. The 19-year-old woman was held pending a bail hearing.

Traffic Enforcement CK15017707

Yesterday morning, officers conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road.

Eight motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.
