Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – June 17, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 132 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Man Charged with Assault CK15016697

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic related investigation.

On June 8, 2015, a woman contacted police for assistance. At this time, she disclosed two incidents of domestic violence.

Early this morning, officers located the man and he was taken into custody. The 47-year-old Chatham Township man has been charged with two counts of assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Mischief CK15017659

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a mischief complaint.

Last night, police responded to a residence in Ridgetown where a man reported that he had just gotten into a verbal argument with a woman and her son about a parking spot at a local business. Upon leaving the man noticed that his truck had been keyed. Through investigation, police learned that the son had damaged the truck.

The 22-year-old Ridgetown man was taken into custody and charged with mischief under $5000. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of July 7, 2015.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15017666

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On June 27, 2014, the man was placed on a Family Court restraining order with conditions not to attend his ex-girlfriend’s residence in Chatham.

On May 29, 2015, the man entered the fenced yard of the woman and approached the rear door of the residence. Police were called, however the man fled the area prior to the officer’s arrival. Attempts were made to locate the man, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for his arrest for the offence of disobey a court order.

Last night around 11:00 p.m. police located the man and he was taken into custody. The 32-year-old Chatham man has been held pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK15017654

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving in Chatham.

Around 8:45 p.m. last night, police received information about a possible impaired driver in the area of Grand Avenue. An officer on general patrol located the man driving a truck and initiated a traffic stop on Prince Albert Road. Through investigation, the officer suspected the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and a roadside test was administered to which he failed. The man was taken into custody and transported to OPP headquarters for breath tests.

Tristan Ouellette, 18 years, of Brook Line in Dresden has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of June 30, 2015.
