Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 6, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 72 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 7 people were arrested.

Stolen Vehicle CK15019987

Sometime late last night or early this morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche truck bearing Ontario licence plates 305 3YN from a residence on Dufferin Ave in Wallaceburg.

Two Males charged with Break and Enter CK15019983

The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested two male parties in regards to a Break and Enter in Chatham.

At approximately 3am this morning the two males attended a building on Michener Ave, Chatham. The males gained access to the building, upon gaining entry the male parties entered into a storage room which contained tools, officers were able to locate the males in the room with backpacks full of stolen property. The two males attempted to flee from the officers.

As a result a 22 year old and a 29 year old Chatham man were arrested and charged with Break and Enter and Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, They were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The Chatham-Kent Police are asking for the public assistance regarding a Break and Enter in Chatham.

Sometime since July 2nd, 2015 unknown suspects gained entry into a residence on Park St, some items removed from the residence were a LG TV, Laptop, Jewelry and camera. Total value of items removed is approximately $6000.00.

Reminder animals in Hot Vehicles

With the temperatures outside beginning to rise, reminder to remove your animals from the car. Many pets die each year as a result of being left in parked cars during warm weather. Temperatures inside a parked car, even when the windows are open and you are in the shade can rapidly reach very dangerous levels. Take action if you find a pet that you think may be suffered from heat exhaustion and owner cannot be located please call your local OSPCA.
