Man Charged with Assault CK15022717

Around 4:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to a business on Park Avenue East in Chatham when a woman entered covered in blood. Through investigation, officers learned that the woman had been assaulted by a man known to her. The 26-year-old woman was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

A 54-year-old Chatham has been charged with assault. He has been held pending a bail hearing.

Police Execute Search Warrant CK15022668

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Chatham.

Inside the residence, officers located crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $2600. Also seized were three digital scales, packaging materials, an air pistol, an operable conducted energy weapon, an aerosol can of bear repellent spray and small amount of Canadian currency.

A 27-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a prohibited device and possession of a weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order. He has been held pending a bail hearing. A 22-year-old Chatham woman was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking. She has been held pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested from CKPS Wanted List CK15022643

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for the offences of uttering threats, mischief, weapons dangerous and failing to attend court.

Yesterday around noon, officers located the man on Grand Avenue West and he was taken into custody. The 21-year-old Chatham man was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Man and Woman Charged with Breaching Release Conditions CK15022617 / CK15022623

Shortly after 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a residence in Chatham in regards to a domestic disturbance. Through investigation, officers learned that the man was bound by a Probation Order with conditions not to communicate with the woman. The woman was aware of his conditions, yet was at his residence.

The 49-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply. The 32-year-old Dresden woman was charged with abetting the breach of probation. They were both transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Traffic Enforcement CK15022630

Yesterday morning around 10:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a woman driving a Ford truck on Victoria Road in Thamesville. The officer noted that her val tag was expired and initiated a traffic stop to further investigate. The woman was unable to identify herself with a valid driver’s licence or provide insurance for the truck. Through investigation, the officer learned that she has been unlicensed since 1984 and that the plates were not authorized for that vehicle.

Patricia Tobias, 63 years, of Little John Road in Bothwell was charged with driving a motor vehicle with no licence, using plates not authorized, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and failing to apply for a permit upon becoming a new owner. Her vehicle was towed from the roadway.
