Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 3, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 127 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.

Break and Enter in Ridgetown

The Chatham-Kent Police are currently investigating a break and enter that occurred on Main Street in Ridgetown.

Sometime between June 23, 2015 and June 30, 2015, unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage and stole a number of items including power tools and outdoor equipment valuing approximately $3800.00.

Commercial Break and Enter in Wheatley

Unknown person(s) attended an Erie Street North food processing facility sometime last night and entered the compound by cutting a chain off the gate. Once inside, they removed a power washer valued at approximately $1000.00. Chatham-Kent Police attended; however, there are no suspects at this time.

Disturbance Leads to Arrest

The Chatham-Kent Police were called to a downtown Chatham bar last night at approximately 1:46am in regards to a highly intoxicated male. The bar owner told police that the male party was causing a disturbance inside the bar and was asked to leave several times. The male continued to yell at passing cars and tried to pick fights with pedestrians while walking on Third Street. The male was located by Chatham-Kent Police and was found to be on a probation order prohibiting him from consuming alcohol.

The 24-year-old Chatham male was arrested for breaching probation and released with a future court date of July 15, 2015.

Flare Training

The Chatham-Kent Police Service will be conducting flare training in Mitchell’s Bay on Saturday, July 4, 2015. This will be for police personnel only and the public is asked not to attend and bring their old flares for disposal.
