Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 23, 2015

Police Execute Search Warrant CK15021840

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Chatham.

Fentanyl patches and oxycodone tablets with a combined street value of approximately $16,000 were seized. A quantity of illegal cigarettes, Canadian currency and US currency were also seized.

Dennis Nicolai, 56 years, of Dunn Avenue in Chatham has been charged with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking. He was released with conditions pending a future court of August 12, 2015.

Man Charged with Uttering Threats CK15021863

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a domestic disturbance in Chatham.

Last night, the man and his common-law began arguing over money. As the man left the residence, he punched her car window and threatened her. Through investigation, the woman disclosed that this was not the first time he had threatened her.

The 29-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and charged with four counts of uttering threats. He has been held pending a bail hearing.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) CK15021890

Last night, officers conducted a RIDE spot check on Chatham Street in Blenheim.

Forty vehicles were stopped with no infractions observed.

Traffic Enforcement CK15021896

Around 2:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the man driving on Keil Drive South in Chatham. The officer recognized the man as a suspended driver as he was stopped and charged three weeks ago. The officer initiated a traffic stop to further investigate and confirmed that he was still suspended.

Timothy Mielczarek, 44 years, of Maryknoll Road in Chatham has been charged with two counts of driving while under suspension. His vehicle was impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15021839

Around 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Winterline Road near Heron Line in Dover Township. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $8000.

A 36-year-old Chatham man was charged with attempting to pass when the roadway was not clear.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK15021793

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on Turquoise Court in Chatham. A laptop valued at $500 and cigarettes were stolen.
