Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 20, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 82 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Man Charged with Assault CK15021542

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic disturbance in Chatham.

Last night, the man and his wife began arguing in the garage over a cell phone. The incident escalated into a physical altercation. The woman did not require medical attention.

The 41-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of August 7, 2015.

Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests CK15021551

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested two people following a traffic stop in Blenheim early this morning.

Around 2:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Little Street South. Through investigation, the officer learned that one of the men in the vehicle was currently breaching a condition of his Probation Order.

The 18-year-old Blenheim man was taken into custody and charged with failing to comply. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of August 17, 2015.

While speaking with another passenger, who was intoxicated by alcohol, the officer learned that he was currently bound by a condition not to consume any intoxicating substances. Upon being searched incident to arrest, he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

The 16-year-old Blenheim youth was charged with failing to comply and drug possession. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15021519

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a three vehicle collision on Keil Drive South near Richmond Street in Chatham.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $60,000.

A 31-year-old Blenheim man was charged with disobeying a red light.

Break and Enter CK15021541

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Tilbury.

Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on Poplar Street. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a 32” RCA flat screen TV. Damage to a window was estimated at $200.
