The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 94 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested in that time
Break and Enter
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.
Sometime yesterday between 11:00 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Victoria Street in Chatham. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a watch and prescription medication.

Motor Vehicle Collision
Around 5:00 p.m. on July 18th, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to motor vehicle collision on Talbot Trail in Ridgetown. There were non-life threatening injuries sustained in the collision and damage is estimated at approximately $20,000. A 29 year old woman was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
Impaired/Over 80 Investigations
Around 10:00 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol received information that a male operating a motor vehicle on Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg was believed to be impaired. Police attended the area and upon speaking with the driver suspected he was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was transported back to the police station and provided two samples of his breath which registered Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of his blood.
The 46-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with the above offences. His driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days. He was released pending a future court date.
Impaired/Over 80 Investigations
Around 10:30 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle complete a U turn and then swerve repeatedly in his lane. A vehicle stop was commenced in the area of Queen St. in Chatham. The officer spoke with the driver and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage directly from his breath and he was unsteady on his feet. He was subsequently arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was transported back to the police station and provided two samples of his breath which registered Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of his blood.
The 20-year-old Chatham man was charged with the above offences. His driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days. He was released pending a future court date.
Over 80 Investigations
Around 11:30 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on King Street in Chatham. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage from the drivers breath. An Approved Screening device demand was given and the driver provided a sample of his breath into the instrument which registered a “F”. He was arrested for having over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood and transported to the police station for further tests. Two samples were provided which registered over the legal limit.
The 27-year-old Chatham man was charged accordingly. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. He was released pending a future court date of July 15, 2015.
Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place
Around 2:35 a.m. this morning, officers located a male party causing a disturbance on King Street in Chatham. The male party was taken into custody for his own safety as he was unable to care for himself.
The 23-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and arrested. He was later released once sober and issued a Provincial Offence ticket for being Intoxicated in a Public Place.
