Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 18, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 140 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested in that time

Man Charged on Domestic Related Charges

The Chatham-Kent Police did arrest a man in connection with domestic related charges.

This weekend, a male attended a vacation residence in south Chatham-Kent with his girlfriend for a weekend stay. During the stay, the male assaulted the female victim and damaged some of her personal property. The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention. A 28 year old Toronto man was arrested and charge for one count of assault and one count of Mischief. He was later released with a pending court date.

Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

An Officer on general patrol in the early evening hours of July 17, 2015, stopped to speak with a female on Park St. in Chatham. While doing so, the Officer learned that the female had a warrant for her arrest for breaching her probation. The female was arrested and taken into custody on the strength of that warrant without incident. The 29 year old Chatham woman was later released with an upcoming court date to answer to the charge.

Stolen Truck

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen truck from Wallaceburg.

Sometime early Friday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a 2002, burgundy Chevrolet Tahoe with Ontario licence plate BVVK 458 from a residential parking lot in Wallaceburg.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a four car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Sandy St. and Grand Ave W. in Chatham. There were minor injuries sustained in the collision and damage is estimated at approximately $23000. A 26 year old Chatham woman was charged for failing to stop for a red light under the Highway Traffic Act.
