Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 16, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 123 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Police Execute Search Warrant CK15021055

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Warrant at a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Approximately $20,000 in cash, oxycodone and hydromorphone pills along drug paraphernalia was seized.

A 50-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were both arrested and charged with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking. They were released with conditions pending a future court date of August 6, 2015.

Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15021045

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On May 20, 2015, the woman was released from custody pending a future court date. On June 24, 2015, the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Yesterday afternoon, officers located the woman and she was taken into custody. The 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been held pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15021082

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Last night around 7:30 p.m. police responded to the Wellington Street East area in Chatham in regards to a suspicious man. Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently wanted by the London Police Service for failing to attend for fingerprints.

The 34-year-old London man was taken into custody and subsequently turned over to London Police.

Woman Charged with Theft CK15020916

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman in connection with a shoplifting complaint.

On July 13, 2015, the woman attended Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham. She placed two wireless speakers and a pre-paid cell phone in her purse and left the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. Total value of the theft was estimated at $544.

Through investigation, officers identified the woman and she was taken into custody early this morning.

Joyce Leveille, 34 years, of James Street in Wallaceburg has been charged with theft under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date of August 12, 2015.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15021115

Around 2:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to a collision on Viscount Road in Chatham.

A parked vehicle was struck. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $8000.

A 26-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to drive in a marked lane.
