The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 109 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15020820
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Earlier this year, the man was released from custody with conditions to reside at a specific address in Ridgetown. On June 28, 2015 police received information that the man was no longer living at the address. Attempts were made to locate the man, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for his arrest for two counts of failing to comply.
Yesterday afternoon, the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in. The 32-year-old man of no fixed address was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15020780
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On February 21, 2015 the man was released from custody pending a future court date. On July 3, 2015, the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday morning, the man attended police headquarters and was taken into custody. The 41-year-old Chatham man was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Motor Vehicle Collision CK15020833
Around 5:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Erie Street South between Middleton Line and McLean Road.
One driver sustained minor injuries. Total damage was estimated at $9000.
A 64-year-old Wheatley man was charged with making a left turn and failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision.
