Chatham-Kent Police Daily News Release – July 13, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 92 calls for service in the last 24 hours. One person was arrested.

Stolen Truck CK15020689

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen truck from Chatham.

Sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a gold 2005 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from Daleview Crescent. The truck was last seen with Ontario licence plates AJ37 990. The vehicle contained a large amount of scrap metal in the bed of the truck.

Theft of Motor Vehicle CK15020761

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding the theft of a truck from Chatham.

Sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) stole a copper coloured 2013 Dodge Ram pick-up truck from a residence on Churchill Street. The truck was last seen with Ontario licence plates AA72 774.

Traffic Enforcement CK15020737

Around 8:30 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed a red Chrysler minivan travelling eastbound on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. The officer believed the driver was suspended and initiated a traffic stop to further investigate. The driver was unable to produce a valid driver’s licence, ownership or insurance for the vehicle. The officer confirmed that he was suspended from driving due to unpaid fines.

The 40-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with driving while under suspension, driving with no currently validated permit, failing to surrender a permit for the motor vehicle, failing to surrender an insurance card and driving with no muffler. The licences plates were seized and his vehicle was towed from the scene. He will be required to attend court on August 12, 2015.
