The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 140 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Update: Fatal Fire in Wallaceburg CK16032497
Just before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, emergency crews responded to a residential fire on Nelson Street where one person was found deceased in the apartment.
With the assistance of the Coroner’s Office and Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office, there is no evidence at this time to lead police to believe the fire is suspicious or foul play was involved.
Man Arrested from Wanted List CK16032756
On July 10, 2016 the man was released from custody for the offences of theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and two counts of failing to attend court.
On August 22, 2016 the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday morning, the man was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The 25-year-old Wallaceburg man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Cyclist Charged in Chatham CK16032777
Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and cyclist in the Keil Drive area.
Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $100.
The 19-year-old cyclist was charged with the by-law offence of operating a bicycle on a sidewalk.

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $4000.
A 46-year-old man was charged with careless driving.
Four Vehicle Collision CK16032819
Last night, shortly after 5:00 p.m. police responded to a four vehicle collision on Queens Line near McDougall Line.
No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $22,000.
A 17-year-old girl was charged with careless driving.
Single Motor Vehicle Collision CK16032820
Just before 5:30 last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Selton Line between Victoria Road and Kenesserie Road.
No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $20,000.
A 24-year-old woman was charged with careless driving.
Stolen John Deere Lawnmower CK16032764
Sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a 485 John Deere lawnmower and 12×5 trailer from a property on Coutts Line in Tilbury.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $10,800.
