The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 130 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Fatal Fire in Wallaceburg CK16032497
Just before 4:00 a.m. yesterday morning, emergency crews responded to a residential fire on Nelson Street.
One person was found deceased in the apartment. Police continue to investigate with the assistance of the Coroner’s Office and Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office.

Serious Motor Vehicle Collision CK16032614
Shortly after midnight, an officer on general patrol was flagged down by a man on Pinehurst Line in regards to a serious motor vehicle collision.
Emergency crews responded and the 38-year-old Richmond Hill man and 48-year-old Chatham woman were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.
The woman has since been transferred to London with life-threatening-injuries. The collision remains under investigation.

Traffic Enforcement CK16032548
For the second time in less than a week, members of the CKPS Traffic Unit conducted traffic enforcement in the area of Riverview Drive and Keil Drive in Chatham yesterday.
In just 2.5 hours, 49 motorists were issued tickets for making illegal left hand turns.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all drivers that disobeying a traffic sign may result in a $110 fine and two demerit points.
The CKPS Traffic Unit also conducted speed enforcement on Talbot Trail in Port Alma yesterday.
In just an hour, 9 motorists were issued speeding tickets.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and please obey the posted speed limit.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16032622
On July 26, 2016 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
This morning at 2:45 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man near an open garage area on St. George Street in Dresden. The man attempted to hide from police, however he was located and taken into custody.
The 48-year-old Dresden man has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant and Charged with Failing to Comply CK16032602
On August 27, 2016 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with his ex-girlfriend.
Last night, the man sent the woman 28 text messages and tried to call her, all within an hour. Police were notified and the man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the offences of failing to comply, criminal harassment, publication of an intimate image without consent and further charged with another count of failing to comply. The 40-year-old Wallaceburg man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Breaches Conditional Sentence Order CK16032608
On August 5, 2016 the man was placed on a conditional sentence order after being convicted of several offences. One of the conditions of this order stated that he was to remain in his residence in Windsor at all times.
Last night around 10:30 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed a group of males walking on Park Street near Dufferin Street in Chatham. As the cruiser approached, the man pulled his hood up over his head. As the officer stopped, the man refused to talk to him and fled on foot. The officer recognized the man from previous incidents and he was taken into custody following a short foot chase.
The 20-year-old Windsor man has been charged with breaching his conditional sentence order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
