The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 147 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Male Youth Charged with Failing to Comply CK17047144
In March 2017, the male youth was released from custody with conditions. One of his conditions was to keep the peace, be of good behavior and abide by the rules of the house.
Last night around 7:00 p.m., he was verbally abusive towards his parents in addition to causing damage to their residence. Police were called and as a result of the investigation, the 17-year-old Chatham male was arrested and charged with failing to comply.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Possession of a Weapon CK17047160
In September, the man was released from custody and placed on a Probation Order. The conditions of that order was not to possess any weapons and to abstain from the purchase, possession and consumption of drugs.
In July 2017, the man was released from custody with conditions. One of his conditions was to obey a curfew by remaining inside his residence between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Last night at 10:30 p.m. an officer on general patrol stopped the man driving a pick-up truck in the area of Grand Avenue W. and Lacroix Street in Chatham.
The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his curfew condition. As he was being searched incident to arrest, a black knife was found on him, along with drugs. Therefore, he was additionally arrested and charged with the following offences:
– Failing to comply
– Possession of prohibited weapon
– Possession of prohibited weapon contrary to order
– Possession of a schedule I substance (Crystal Methamphetamine)
– Possession of a schedule II substance (Marijuana)
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK17046824
In October 2017, the man was released from custody with conditions. One of those conditions was to abstain from any communication with a woman that is known to him and their shared children.
On December 1, 2017 the man approached the woman, who was with one of their children, and tried talking to them. She immediately requested that he leave and he did. Police were notified of the incident. Attempts to locate the man were unsuccessful and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday at 12:00 p.m. the 37-year-old Chatham man was located at an address in Chatham, arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK17047044
In August 2017, the man was released from custody for the offences of theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and obstruct police officer. He was requested to attend court on September 5, 2017, but failed to do so and warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday at 11:00 a.m. the 28-year-old Walpole Island man was located in Windsor. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was arrested on the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with failing to attend court. He was later released with a court date of Friday, December 22, 2017.
Break and Enter in Tilbury CK17047059
On Sunday, December 3, 2017 between 3:17 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. an unknown suspect was captured on video surveillance breaking the front door of Little Caesars Pizza on Queen Street S. in Tilbury. The suspect then entered the establishment, removed cash registers and then left the area on a bicycle.
