Serious Motor Vehicle Collision in Romney Township
On Saturday, September 5, 2015 at approximately 6:08 am, emergency services were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision on King & Whittle Road in Romney Township. Upon arrival, a 19-year-old male, who was the only occupant, was located inside his vehicle with life-threatening injuries. Through investigation it was revealed that the male was northbound on King & Whittle road when he left the roadway, entered a ditch and struck a culvert. The male was transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he was stabilized then transported to London Health Sciences Centre for further treatment. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Management Unit is currently investigating and those with information are asked to contact Cst. Break and Enter in Chatham
On Friday, September 4, 2015 at approximately 10:30 pm unknown suspect(s) entered a McNaughton Ave East residence in Chatham and removed approximately $1000 worth of jewellery. Police were called and attended to investigate. At this point there are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cst. Nicole Letourneau at [email protected]. Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest
On Saturday, September 5, 2015 at approximately 1:03 am, an officer on patrol observed a pick-up truck make an improper turn. The officer stopped the vehicle and while speaking to the driver believed that he had consumed alcohol to the extent that it was impairing his ability to drive a vehicle. The officer arrested the driver for impaired driving. He was brought to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for analysis. As a result, a 20-year-old London male received a three-day licence suspension.
Assault in Tilbury
On Saturday, September 5, 2015 at approximately 1:30 am, a man and his friend began to argue over a cat. The argument became heated and the man went inside to get a plank of wood. The man began to swing the plank at his friend. Another man saw the altercation and started to yell at the man to stop. However, the assailant began to swing the plank at the witness striking him in the head. The victim received minor injuries. As a result, a 42-year-old Tilbury man was charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was later released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
Motor Vehicle Collision in Wallaceburg
On Friday, September 4, 2015 at approximately 2:46 pm, a man was driving his vehicle on Wren line when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into a water filled ditch. The lone male occupant was not injured and was able to get out. Emergency services attended and the vehicle was removed. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $15,000. The 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving.
