Woman Charged with Resisting a Peace Officer CK15028323
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman for breaching her release conditions.
The woman is currently bound by a Probation Order with a condition not to contact by telephone the Chatham-Kent Police Service or 911 unless for a medical, fire or police emergency.
Last night around 8:30 p.m. the woman called the Chatham-Kent Police Service non-emergency line and while talking to the dispatcher was making no sense. The woman did not require the services of any emergency personnel. Officers tracked down the woman at an apartment on Grand Avenue East and upon being placed under arrest, she pulled her arm away and ran into the washroom. The woman refused to cooperate and continued to struggle, however was taken into custody. Upon being searched incident to arrest, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
The 32-year-old Blenheim woman has been charged with failing to comply, resisting a peace officer and drug possession. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15028355
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding drug warrant.
On August 28, 2015, police executed a warrant in relation to a fraud investigation at a residence on Park Avenue West in Chatham. As police conducted a search of the residence, methamphetamine was located. No one was home at the time, therefore warrants were issued for both homeowners.
Early this morning, police located the woman on Gray Street and she was taken into custody. The 30-year woman of no fixed address has been charged with drug possession. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Two Men Charged with Assault CK15027835
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested two men following a disturbance in Chatham last week.
On September 13, 2015 around 2:55 a.m. police responded to an altercation on King Street near First Street. Two brothers, ages 24 and 22, were assaulted and both were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. One of the brothers was later transferred to a London hospital for surgery. Through investigation, police identified the men responsible for the assault.
Yesterday morning, a 23-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. He was released pending a future court date of October 16, 2015.
