Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – October 7, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 121 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Teen Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15030228

Yesterday morning, police received information that a teenager was sleeping in a vehicle on Canal Street in Tilbury. Upon police arrival, he was gone, however officers located him a short distance away on Lyon Street. Through investigation, police learned that the teen was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant by a neighbouring police service. The 15-year-old Tilbury teen was taken into custody and turned over to Sarnia Police Service.

Theft from Vehicle CK15030258

Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole $1000 worth of electronics and welding equipment from a vehicle parked on Creek Road in Harwich Township.

Stolen Vehicles in Wallaceburg

CK15030227 – Sometime between October 5th at 9:45 p.m. and October 6th at 8:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole an unlocked blue 1998 Chevrolet pick-up truck from a residence on Nelson Street. The truck was last seen with Ontario licence plates 158 9NY.

CK15030259 – Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2000 GMC pick-up truck from a residence on University Avenue. The truck contained about $800 worth of hunting equipment and was last seen with Ontario licence plates AF83 599.

CK15030233 – Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a locked green 1998 Chevrolet pick-up truck from a residence on Reaume Street. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates AA35 679.

Operation Cover Up

The Chatham-Kent Police Service is proud to support ‘Operation Cover Up’ once again this year. The program is currently in the ‘Collection Period’ which means that gently used winter coats (especially kids and plus sizes) are to be dropped off at any one of the following locations during their regular business hours:

Dresden – McBrayne Feed and Supply Ltd

Ridgetown – The Salvation Army

Thamesville – Vivian Cleaners

Tilbury – Tilbury Information and HELP Centre
