Man Charged with Assault Police Officer CK15030097

Last night around 8:40 p.m. the man was drinking with his girlfriend at her apartment in Wallaceburg. The man became intoxicated and starting damaging her property. The man caused approximately $5000 damage. Upon police arrival, the man was advised that he was under arrest. The man pulled his arm away, breaking free from the officer’s grip while yelling obscenities. The man then punched the officer in the head. He continued to fight and spit, however was taken into custody.

Through investigation, police further learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to consume alcohol.

The 41-year-old Walpole Island man has been charged with breach of probation, mischief under $5000, resist arrest and assault police officer. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK15030086

In September 2014, the man was released from custody for the offences of arson, failing to comply and three counts of drug possession. In August 2015, the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Last night around 7:00 p.m. police located the man on Queen Street near Richmond Street in Chatham. The 36-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and held pending a bail hearing.

Stolen Truck from Chatham CK15030110

Sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) stole an unlocked 1990 gold GMC pick-up truck from a residence on Grand Avenue East. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 610 7FM.

Stolen Vehicle from Wallaceburg CK15030049

Sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a brown 2008 Buick Enclave from a residence on McKee Road. The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates AFSK 057.

Break and Enter in Wallaceburg CK15030059

Sometime between October 3 at 3:00 p.m. and October 4 at 12:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a warehouse on Arnold Street. A Dell laptop and projector, valued at $5000, were stolen.
