Man Charged with Assault CK15032460

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. this morning, the man and his girlfriend began arguing while in her apartment in Chatham.

The man assaulted the woman and uttered a threat towards her son.

Officers responded to the disturbance and the man was arrested.

The 37-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with assault and uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK15032427

In August 2015, the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Chatham woman.

Yesterday afternoon, an officer initiated a traffic stop on Bloomfield Road and located the man and woman together. The man falsely identified himself to the officer, however his real identity was quickly confirmed and he was arrested.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant regarding an incident that occurred earlier in the month where he failed to comply with his curfew condition.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of hydromorphone.

The 19-year-old Raleigh Township man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply and drug possession. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15032428

On October 22, 2015 a warrant was issued for the man as he failed to comply with conditions of his Probation Order.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant.

The 22-year-old Wallaceburg man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

CK15032395 – Around 12:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East between Michener Road and Walker Road in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $5000. A 64-year-old Union man was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

CK15032401 – Just before 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue West between Woods Street and Churchill Street in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $15,000. An 89-year-old Harwich Township man was charged with following too closely.

CK15032404 – Shortly after 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Keil Drive in Chatham. One person sustained minor injuries. Total damage was estimated at $2000. A 32-year-old woman was charged with following too closely.

CK15032421 – Around 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Wellington Street near Lacroix Street in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $15,000. A 67-year-old man was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Theft in Chatham CK15032410

Yesterday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. an unknown suspect(s) stole a black case containing a DeWalt drill and red Milwaukee sawzall from a vehicle parked on Lacroix Street. Total value of the theft was estimated at $450.
