The Chatham-Kent Police Service wishes to remind motorists that with the arrival of wintery weather comes the arrival of slippery and quickly changing road conditions. Even the appearance of clear roads can be deceiving and conditions such as black ice and drifting snow can go unnoticed, until the last moment, causing a hazardous situation. All are reminded to take extra care while driving and to allow more time to arrive so as to arrive safely. Equipment such as snow tires can be of excellent benefit, however, nothing is more important than proper caution and extra care and attention while driving in wintery conditions.
