Two Chatham men charged with Drug Offences
On December 5, 2015 at approximately 9:00am members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were at an address on Queens Line. Police located a parked vehicle with two occupants. One of the occupants, a 50 year old male, was known to be on house arrest for prior criminal offences. While conducting the investigation police also located controlled drugs and associated drug paraphernalia. Both the 50 year old and the 30 year old male were arrested and charged with two counts of Possession for Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The 30 year old was later released from Police custody with a future court date of January 7, 2016. The 50 year old male was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Breaching Court Conditions
On July 31, 2015 a 50 year old Chatham man was placed on court conditions to remain in his residence 24-hours a day and to not communicate with a specific person.
On December 4, 2015 Police completed an investigation into a possible breach of both of these conditions. On December 5, 2015 the 50 year old male was located at an address on Queens Line, Chatham outside of his residence. He was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of Breach of Recognizance and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Couple Arrested on Outstanding Charges
On December 5, 2015 at approximately 9:00am Police attended an address on Wellington Street East, Chatham. Police located a 45 year old Chatham man and a 35 year old Chatham female at the residence who were known to Police to have outstanding charges. Both were arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for two counts of Theft and Possession Under $5000 and six counts of Failure to Comply with Undertaking. The 45 year old Chatham man was later released from custody with a future court date of December 23, 2015. The 35 year old female was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Female Arrested on outstanding Warrant
On September 1, 2015 a 41 year old female from Wallaceburg was arrested and charged with several criminal offences. The female was later released from Police custody with a future court date and conditions to report to the Chatham-Kent Police Service on a weekly basis. The female failed to abide by the conditions and a warrant was subsequently issued.
On December 5, 2015 at approximately 9:00am Police attended an address on Wellington Street East, Chatham. The female was arrested on the outstanding warrant and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Assault
On December 5, 2015 at approximately 8:30pm Police were dispatched to the Kent Bridge area in response to a suspicious person and an assault complaint. Officers received information that a male was found in the area walking and had also assaulted a local resident. Police located a 38 year old Kent Bridge man who was arrested and charged with assault. There were no injuries as a result of the altercation. The accused party was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Impaired
On December 6, 2015 at approximately 1:00am an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on Ridge Line west of Mull Road. The investigating officer had grounds to believe the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired and subsequently arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing. The 41 year old Ridgetown man charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Provide a Breath Sample. The man was later released from Police custody with a January 5, 2016 court date.
