Update: CIBC Receives Bomb Threat CK15035878

Around 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, CIBC employees on King Street in Chatham received a bomb threat from a man inside the bank. The man fled on foot prior to police arrival however officers located him a short distance away and he was apprehended.

As a precaution the bank was cleared by police. Through investigation, officers determined that the threat was a hoax. No one was injured.

The 52-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK15035851

Yesterday morning, a woman reported to police that she had been the victim of domestic abuse by her ex-boyfriend. Through investigation, the woman disclosed several incidents of domestic violence during their relationship.

Last night, the 18-year-old Thamesville man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, overcoming resistance to choking and five counts of assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Uttering Threats CK15035835

On December 2, 2015 the man uttered a threat towards a family member who resides in Chatham. The man was located in Windsor and apprehended. He was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

The 51-year-old Windsor man has been charged with uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Assault CK15035822

Early Thursday morning, police responded to a disturbance between two men known to each other on Fourth Street in Chatham. One man was transported to hospital for medical attention.

A 38-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault. He was released with conditions pending a future court of December 23, 2015.

Ridgetown Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK15035924

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, officers located the man on York Street East. For his own safety, the man was taken into custody.

The 23-year-old man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15035882

Around 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Goldmere Drive near Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $5000.

A 51-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to share half the roadway.
