Theft of Motor Vehicle Reported
On the 30th of December 2015 Police attended to an address on Main Street, Bothwell in response to a Theft of Motor Vehicle complaint. Investigation revealed sometime overnight between December 29th & December 30th an unknown party stole a 2007 Dodge Caliber, silver in color. At this time investigation is continuing. Emergency crews respond to Collision involving a Train & Tractor-Trailer
Shortly after 10:00am on December 30th, 2015 Emergency Crews attended to Zone Road 6, Bothwell in response to a Motor Vehicle Collision involving a Train & Tractor-Trailer. Investigation has revealed the incident involved a 30 year old male from the London Area.
There are no reported injuries and approximately $30,000 in total damage ($5,000-train) & ($25,000-vehicle).
The driver of the motor vehicle was charged in relation to a Highway Traffic Act Offence.
Emergency crews attend to a Residential Fire on W. Lewis Line
At approximately 11:28am on December 30th, 2015 Emergency Crews attended to an address on W. Lewis Line, Dover Township in response to a Residential Fire. Investigation ruled the fire accidental, found no injuries and damage totaled approximately $550,000, which included the residence, contents and two vehicles.
Police arrest male for Outstanding Warrants and Domestic related matter
During the evening hours of December 30th, 2015 Police attended to a residence on Sudbury Drive, Chatham and located a male party wanted on outstanding Criminal Warrants. Investigation also revealed additional Domestic Criminal related charges, and as a result the 32 year old Chatham male was arrested and transported to Headquarters pending Bail.
Chatham male arrested for Domestic & Drug related charges
Shortly after 6:00pm on December 30th, 2015 Police attended to an address on Vanier Drive, Chatham in response to a Domestic related complaint. Investigation revealed that between October 2015 & December 2015, a 27 year old Chatham male had repeatedly assaulted, threatened and criminally harassed a 31 year old female he was previously in a relationship with. Additional information was also brought forward indicating multiple mischief related occurrences as well.
As investigation continued, Police were able to locate the male exiting a downtown Chatham business and he was arrested without incident. The Chatham male was transported to Headquarters for Bail Court with respect to the following charges:
Assault x3, contrary to Section 266 Criminal Code
Utter Threats to Cause Harm x2, contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) Criminal Code
Mischief Under $5,000 x2, contrary to Section 430(4) Criminal Code
Forcible Confinement x2, contrary to Section 279(2) Criminal Code
Criminal Harassment, contrary to Section 264(2)(d) Criminal Code
Additionally, during arrest the accused was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected drugs. As a result the following additional charges were placed on the accused:
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) C.D.S.A.
Possession of a Controlled Substance, contrary to Section 4(1) C.D.S.A.
The total value of the suspected drugs was estimated at $1,300.
