Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – December 3, 2015

Update: Theft from TSC CK15035489

As previously released, on November 29, 2015 shortly after 1:00 p.m. police responded to a theft complaint at TSC on St. Clair Road in Chatham. One man was already arrested and charged. Through investigation, police identified and located the second man responsible for stealing two pairs of gloves.

Yesterday afternoon, Nathan Killins, 38 years, of King Street East in Chatham was charged with theft under $5000. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of December 16, 2015.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) CK15035800

Last night, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and Moraviantown Police conducted a RIDE spot check on Orford Road.

42 vehicles were stopped with no infractions observed.

Two Men Arrested for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place

CK15035809 – Around 9:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a residence on Merritt Avenue in Chatham in regards to an unwanted man in an apartment. Officers located the intoxicated man in the hallway and he was taken into custody for his own safety. The 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released this morning when sober.

CK15035816 – Just before 10:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a disturbance on Fourth Street in Chatham. Officers located an intoxicated man who was unable to care for himself. The 60-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released this morning when sober.

Woman Charged with Driving While Under Suspension CK15035741

Yesterday morning around 10:30 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed the woman driving westbound on Wellington Street in Chatham. Through investigation, the officer received information that the woman’s driving privileges were suspended due to unpaid fines. The officer stopped and spoke with the woman in a nearby parking lot.

The 40-year-old Chatham woman was charged with driving while under suspension and driving with no insurance. She will be required to attend court on December 16, 2015.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15035736

At 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Andrea Drive near Dana Place in Chatham.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $5000.

A 30-year-old Chatham man was charged with making a turn not in safety.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15035792

Shortly after 5:00 p .m. last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East near Woodland Avenue in Chatham.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $20,000.

A 30-year-old Chatham man was charged with making a turn not in safety.
