Chatham-kent Daily News Release – December 22, 2015

Man Charged with Robbery CK15037341

On December 19, 2015 around 2:00 a.m. an altercation began between five men, all known to each other, at a residence on Queen Street North in Tilbury.

The victim, a 23-year-old Tilbury man was assaulted and cash from his wallet was stolen along with his Samsung cell phone.

Through investigation, police identified those responsible and warrant for the offence of robbery was issued for their arrest.

Last night, police arrested a 19-year-old Tilbury man. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. Police continue to look for the other three men involved.

Man and Woman Charged with Uttering a Forged Document CK15037507

Yesterday morning around 10:00 a.m. the man and woman attended a pharmacy on Grand Avenue West in Chatham with individual hand written prescriptions. The technician observed both scripts and immediately became suspicious as to their authenticity. The Doctor who apparently wrote them was contacted and confirmed that neither prescription was issued or signed by him.

At 10:30 a.m. police arrested the man and woman for uttering a forged document. The 30-year-old Chatham woman was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing. The 41-year-old Chatham man was released with conditions pending a future court date of January 19, 2016.

Man Charged with Assault CK15036749

On December 13, 2015 around 2:40 a.m. police responded to an altercation in the parking lot of the Arlington Tavern in Ridgetown. Upon police arrival, everyone cleared the area.

Shortly thereafter, police received information that the man was at a residence on York Street and was looking to confront a young man regarding the altercation in the parking lot.

As the young man’s relative exited his home, a verbal argument began in the driveway and the man assaulted him. The 65-year-old man sustained injuries and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested. The 21-year-old Thamesville man was released with conditions pending a future court date of January 8, 2016.

Break and Enter in Jeanette’s Creek CK15037498

Sometime between December 20 at 6:00 p.m. and December 21 at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a residence under construction on Tecumseh Line. Approximately $6000 worth of various tools were stolen.
