Woman Charged with Weapon Offences and Resist Arrest CK15023353
Yesterday morning, the woman and her common-law husband began arguing in the kitchen. The incident escalated into a physical altercation as the woman threw a kitchen knife at the man, narrowly missing him. Officers responded to the domestic disturbance and upon advising the woman she was under arrest, she resisted getting handcuffed and tried to flee from the officers. The woman was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.
The 23-year-old Dover Township woman was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resist peace officer. She was transported to the court house and released with conditions pending a future court date of August 12, 2015.
Man Charged with Domestic Released Offences CK15023369
Yesterday, the man and his ex-girlfriend began arguing and he assaulted her. The woman fled the residence with their 1-year-old old child and locked themselves in a car in the driveway. The man followed the woman outside and began threatening her and her family. Upon police arrival, the man was taken into custody. The woman and child exited the vehicle. Neither of them required medical attention.
Through investigation, the woman disclosed previous incidents of domestic violence. The 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of uttering threats and five counts of assault. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Theft from Vehicles CK15022976
As previously released, on August 1, 2015, shortly after midnight, police responded to the area of Dahlia Drive and Iris Court in Chatham in regards to two youths going through vehicles. The 16-year-old and 17-year-old youths, both from Chatham were taken into custody and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. They were released with conditions pending a future date.
Through investigation, numerous items were seized from the youths. Police believe the youths may have rummaged through vehicles in the Birdland area as well. Anyone who had their vehicle entered on this date in these areas and had property stolen are asked to contact Constable Ken Morrell at [email protected] or 519-436-6600 extension #87272.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK15023348
Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked residence on Bristol Drive and stole electronics and a bicycle. Total value of the theft is approximately $2000. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Ken Miller at [email protected] or 519-436-6600 extension #84940. ATV Safety CK15023425
Last night around 6:30 p.m. police received a traffic complaint regarding a man and two youths riding an ATV on King Street in Wallaceburg. Officers attended the area, however failed to locate them.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind everyone that the only areas in Chatham-Kent that allow these vehicles to be driven on a road are in the Mitchell’s Bay, Erieau, Shrewsbury and Bates Subdivision (Rondeau) between November and March. It is not lawful for ATVs to be driven on and/or along a highway. They may be driven on your own property or other private property where you have permission to ride them.
