Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 31Jan2017

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 117 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Neighbour Dispute in Wallaceburg CK17003512

In August, 2016 the man was charged with uttering threats and mischief against his neighbours. He was released from custody with specific conditions not to communicate with them.

Yesterday morning while inside their residence, the neighbours observed the man standing directly outside their living room window yelling threating words toward them. The man then returned to his house and retrieved a wooden chair from the porch. He threw the chair at the fence dividing their properties, causing damage to the neighbour’s fence. The man then grabbed a recycle bin and threw that at the neighbour’s house causing damage to the siding.

A 32 year old Wallaceburg man was located a short distance away and arrested for failing to comply, uttering threats and two counts of mischief under $5000. He was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

UPDATE – Robbery in Chatham CK17003187

On Friday, January 27, 2017 police responded to Tecumseh Park in Chatham for a youth that had been assaulted. The victim explained that he met another teen in the park to purchase a belt. However, during the exchange, the victim was assaulted and robbed of his money by the teen and his friend, both of whom were known to him. Minor injuries were reported.

On January 28, 2017, a 16 year old Chatham youth was located, arrested and charged with Robbery. He was released with a future court date of February 20, 2017.

Last night, the second 16 year old Chatham youth turned himself in to police where he was arrested and charged with robbery. He was also released with a future court date of February 20, 2017.

Thamesville Man Charged with Uttering Threats CK17003580

Last night around 9:00 p.m. a woman reported to police that her ex-boyfriend was leaving threatening messages on her cell phone. Through investigation, it was determined that the man had threatened her.

A 34 year old Thamesville man was located at his residence, arrested and charged with uttering threats. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
