The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 98 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two of the four people were arrested on warrants.
Man Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant CK17003399
Early yesterday morning around 5:30 a.m. emergency crews responded to an address in Thamesville on an unrelated matter. Through investigation, police identified a man at that residence who was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of London.
A 26 year old Thamesville man was arrested on the warrant and turned over to London Police.
Man Charged with Assault CK17003421
Sunday afternoon at approximately 12:00 p.m. officers responded to an address in Chatham where a woman was overheard yelling for someone to call the police. When officers arrived they learned that the man had choked and threatened her. Non-life threatening injuries were sustained.
A 28 year old Chatham man was arrested for assault and uttering threats. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Warrant CK17003471
In September, 2016 the man was arrested and charged with impaired driving. He was required to attend court in December, 2016, however, he failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Last night the 58 year old Chatham man was located around 8:00 p.m. on Richmond Street and arrested on the warrant. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Trespassing Leads to further Charges CK17003488
Just after 12:00 a.m. this morning police were on general patrol on West Street in Chatham. They observed the man trespassing by riding a bicycle along the railway tracks toward Raleigh Street, wearing camouflage clothing. After a few attempts to evade police, he was located hiding in the bushes along the tracks. He was arrested for trespassing.
Upon searching the man incident to arrest, officers located a cordless saw, a fully charged battery, a battery charger, a flashlight and binoculars within his backpack.
Matthew Buller, 31 years, of Lorne Avenue in Chatham was charged with entering on land on which line work is situated, according the Railway Safety Act. He was further charged with being in possession of break and enter tools. He was released with a court date of February 2, 2017.
Break and Enter in Wallaceburg CK17003413
Yesterday morning police responded to a break and enter complaint at an address on John Park Line in Wallaceburg. It was determined that two implement sheds had been entered sometime between Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the sheds by cutting the pad locks. Once Inside, they removed a black garden trailer and a 2005 Green Honda RINCON ATV. Total value of stolen items is $2,700. They caused damage to a sensor light, a trail cam and a few pad locks. Total damage is estimated at $350.
