The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 112 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.
Several Arrests Made for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place – CK16044146/CK16044154/CK16044175/ CK16044179
Last night at approximately 8:00 PM, officers responded to the area of McNaughton Ave in Wallaceburg in regards to a suspicious person complaint. On arrival, officers located a male party who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his safety, he was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. A 28 year old Walpole Island man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
Last night at approximately 8:40 PM, officers responded to an address on King Street East in Chatham in regards to an unwanted person present at the address. On arrival, officers located a male party who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his safety, he was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. A 57 year old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
This morning at approximately 3:00 AM, officers responded to an address on Edgar Street in Chatham in regards to an unwanted person present at the address. On arrival, officers located a male party who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his safety, he was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. A 34 year old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
This morning at approximately 6:30 AM, officers responded to the area of Timmins Crescent in Chatham in regards to a disturbance. On arrival, officers located a male party who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his safety, he was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. A 31 year old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK16044083
Yesterday at approximately 9:40 AM, officers responded to a suspicious person complaint on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. On arrival, officers identified the man involved and found that he was wanted on a warrant by Essex County OPP for the offences of Fail to Appear and Theft Under $5000. The 28 year old Wallaceburg man was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was later turned over to OPP.
Man Charged After Assaulting Cab Driver – CK16044145
Yesterday at approximately 8:00 PM, officers responded to the area of Joseph Street in Chatham in regards to a cab driver being assaulted. On arrival, officers located the male suspect and placed him under arrest. The cab driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
A 44 year old Chatham man has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He has been released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
