Man Charged with Break and Enter CK16007736

This morning, shortly after 4:00 a.m. police responded to an alarm at UniFirst Canada Ltd on Grand Avenue East in Chatham as a window had been broken. Upon police arrival, officers observed the man fleeing the scene on a bicycle carrying a black plastic tool kit made by Jobmate. The man was apprehended and upon being searched incident to arrest, was found to also be in possession of several pairs of black latex gloves and a white towel stolen from the business.

The 52-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter. He remains in police custody this morning pending a bail hearing.

Pair Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16007676 / CK16007702

Yesterday morning, the man and his common-law girlfriend began arguing at their residence in Chatham. The incident escalated into a physical altercation in which it is alleged that they both assaulted each other.

The 29-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were arrested and each charged with one count of assault. The pair have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16007660

On March 23, 2015 the man attended Rent-A-Centre on St. Clair Street in Chatham and agreed to a monthly payment as part of an 18-month contract for a 32” Toshiba TV and X-Box One gaming system. When the man failed to make payments, police were contacted. Through investigation, police learned that the man had sold the items to a local pawn shop. Attempts were made to locate the man, however when unsuccessful, a warrant for his arrest was issued for the offence of theft by conversion.

Yesterday morning, police located the man on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and he was arrested. Terrell Carlsen, 22 years, of Edgar Street in Chatham was released with conditions pending a future court date of April 18, 2016.

Sometime between March 24 and March 28 unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a utility shed on Sheldon Avenue causing about $100 damage. Various tools and equipment valued at approximately $6000 were stolen.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16007665

Sometime between March 27 at 7:30 p.m. and March 28 at 11:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a shed on Forest Street. A Schwinn 5 Star cruiser style red bicycle, Yard Works snow blower, Mastercraft air compressor, Liberty submersible sump pump and Coleman power mater generator were stolen.
