Man Charged with Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample CK16004999

This morning around 12:30 a.m. police received information about a possible impaired driver in the area of Pioneer Line and St. Clair Street. At 12:43 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man travelling on St. Clair Street with no headlights on and a traffic stop was initiated. Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The man refused to provide a sample of his breath into the roadside approved screen device, even though he was given numerous chances. At 1:01 a.m. the man was arrested.

A query of the man also revealed that he was currently bound by several conditions. One of the conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Another condition stated that he was not to be outside his residence with alcohol in his body.

The 29-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample and two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Unlawfully in a Dwelling House CK16005008

This morning around 3:30 a.m. the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence on Grand Avenue East in Chatham to borrow cab fare. The woman gave the man money and locked the front door so he could not enter her home. The man then went to the back of the residence and entered through an insecure bathroom window.

Officers responded and the man was arrested inside the woman’s home. The 32-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16004343

On February 20, 2016 the man and his girlfriend were arguing at a residence on Longwoods Road when it escalated into a physical altercation. As the man was kicked out of the house, he began damaging the front door of the residence in an attempt to re-enter. As the man kicked the door, it broke open causing the woman to sustain a serious injury to her hand.

Yesterday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. officers located the man and he was arrested. The 35-year-old Raleigh Township man has been charged with mischief under $5000, unlawfully in a dwelling house and assault causing bodily harm. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16004971

Last night around 5:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on St. Clair Street near Grand Avenue in Chatham.

Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 54-year-old Windsor man was charged with failing to stop for a red light.
