Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 29Dec2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 110 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Break and Enter CK16043992

The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

Sometime between December 27th and December 28th, unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a business on Keil Dr. S.by prying open the drive thru window. Once inside the suspect(s) stole a smart terminal debit machine valued at $300.00.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Kevin Burgess at 519-436-6600 extension #87232. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16043984

Yesterday morning just before 10 am, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the man threatened his girlfriend while they argued. He also took the woman’s mother’s vehicle without consent. At the time of the offence the man was on a Recognizance of Bail not to communicate with the woman.

The 50-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats x2 and Breach of Recognizance of Bail. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested by ROPE Squad CK16043995

Yesterday just before noon the Chatham-Kent Police Service assisted the ROPE Squad in executing a Parole violation warrant.

A 31-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and turned over to CKPS for transportation to the Windsor Detention Centre.

Man Charged with Break and Enter and Property Related Offences CK16043861

On December 27th, 2016 police learned that a business on Byng Ave in Chatham had been broken into and a large amount of property was taken. Officers were provided video surveillance of the suspects.

Through investigation, police identified and arrested one of the men responsible for the Break, Enter and Theft.

The 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with Break and Enter, theft and possession. He was released from custody pending a future court date.

With the holiday season upon us, the Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind motorists that there will be an increase in RIDE programs and impaired driving enforcement across the Municipality in an effort to identify those drivers who place everyone’s safety at risk by driving while impaired on our roads.
