Windsor Pair Arrested Following Pursuit CK16040396

Last night around 6:45 p.m. police responded to a break and enter in progress in the area of Finn Line. The homeowner interrupted the crime, called police and followed the suspect vehicle. Officers located the black van and the driver turned her lights off as she approached Blenheim. Officers continued to follow the van and a stop stick was successfully deployed on Creek Road. The driver continued and finally came to rest on Lacroix Street in Chatham after ramming a police cruiser.

The driver and passenger fled on foot, however both were arrested a short distance away.

Through investigation, police learned that van was stolen from Fletcher and was full of property.

The driver, a 35-year-old Windsor woman has been charged with several property related and driving offences. Her passenger, a 28-year-old Windsor man has also been charged with property related offences. Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

No one was injured. Significant damage was caused to both the van and cruiser. Both were towed from the scene.

Man Charged with Theft CK16040356

Yesterday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. the man attended Canadian Tire on Grand Avenue in Chatham and hid items from the automotive section in his coat. The man walked by the cashiers making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. Store security apprehended the man and police were notified.

The 30-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for break and enter, theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Arrested from Wanted List CK16040333

On November 4, 2016 a warrant for two counts of breach of probation was issued for the woman.

Yesterday morning around 9:00 a.m. police located the woman on Longwoods Road and she was arrested.

The 20-year-old woman of no fixed address has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16040408

Last night, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend’s brother while at a hockey game in Chatham. The victim’s friend was also assaulted while trying to break up the disturbance. As arena staff arrived, the man fled the area.

Through investigation, police also learned that the man failed to comply with his release conditions.

Officers located the man and he was arrested. The 21-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of uttering threats and four counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
