The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 161 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested.
Man Arrested from Wanted List CK16023692
Earlier this month, a warrant was issued for the man as he failed to comply with his Probation Order.
Last night, an officer on general patrol located the man in the area of Patteson Avenue and Lacroix Street.
Mathew Lachance, 27 years, of Cecile Avenue in Chatham was arrested and charged with breach of probation. He was released pending a future court date of August 10, 2016.
Theft of Liquor in Wallaceburg CK16023634
Yesterday afternoon, the man attended The Black Goose on James Street and removed a bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila from behind the bar. The man fled on foot however was followed by employees of the restaurant and detained a short distance away while police were called.
The 21-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Assault in Blenheim CK16023663
Yesterday at 5:30 p.m. the victim was in the parking lot of a business on Marlborough Street when he was approached by a man known to him. Without warning, the man punched the victim in the jaw. The victim did not require medical attention.
Police located the man and he was arrested and charged with assault. The 53-year-old Harwich Township man was released pending a future court date of August 31, 2016.
Man Found in Possession of Stolen Property CK16023625
On July 26, 2016 nine Garmin GPS devices were stolen from Progressive Waste Solutions on Sass Road in Chatham. Through investigation, police arrested a man yesterday afternoon. While being searched incident to arrest, he was found to be in possession of one of the stolen Garmin’s.
The 37-year-old Chatham man has been charged with being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16023677
On October 17, 2013 the woman was released from custody. On September 29, 2014 the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Last night, the 46-year-old Chatham woman was arrested by OPP and transported to CKPS HQ. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16023691
Last night, police responded to a domestic related incident in Chatham. A woman reported that earlier in the day she received a threatening Facebook message from her ex-boyfriend. Then, while out walking, he drove by and yelled at her even though he was on conditions not to communicate with her.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning, police located the 48-year-old Chatham man. He has been charged with uttering threats and three counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK16023613
Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on Craven Drive.
Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a Stihl weed eater, set of Ping golf clubs and Dewalt skill saw. Total value of the theft is estimated at $3000.
