Man Charged with Break and Enter CK16011160

Yesterday morning, shortly after 8:00 a.m. police responded to a report of man with a weapon inside a residence on Ninth Line. The man entered the home and awoke the homeowners, known to him, while carrying a shotgun.

No one was injured and the man fled the area prior to police arrival.

Around 9:20 a.m. police located the man and he was arrested. The 49-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with break and enter. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. This incident remains under investigation as more charges are anticipated.

Man Charged with Stunt Driving CK16011183

Yesterday morning around 11:30 a.m. members of the Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling on Bearline Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was recorded going 151 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone.

The 59-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with stunt driving. His licence was suspended for seven (7) days and his vehicle was impounded for seven (7) days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Industrial Accident in Blenheim CK16011209

Yesterday afternoon, just before 4:00 p.m. emergency crews responded to an industrial accident at Cross Country Manufacturing on Solvay Drive.

A 19-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries while using a grinder. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

The Ministry of Labour was contacted and has taken over the investigation.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Bothwell CK16011219

Last night around 6:15 p.m. police received information that a red Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck had been stolen from Windsor. With the assistance of On-Star, the vehicle was located on Main Street in Bothwell within the hour.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg was arrested and charged with theft of motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by a crime over $5000. He was released pending a future court date of May 10, 2016.

Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK16011166

On January 21, 2014 the woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was to obey a curfew by remaining in her residence 24 hours a day except for specific appointments or lawful employment.

Yesterday morning around 9:20 a.m. police received information about two suspicious women in the Thames Grove Conservation area. Through investigation, police located the women and learned that one woman was breaching her release conditions.

The 42-year-old Walpole Island woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply. She was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Break and Enter in Wallaceburg CK16011159

Sometime Monday night, unknown suspect(s) entered WDSS on Elgin Street and stole various electronics, including iPads and projectors. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $2000-$3000.

Stolen Truck in Chatham CK16011155

Sometime between April 25 at 7:00 p.m. and April 26 at 3:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a navy blue 2010 Ford F-150 truck from a residence on Joseph Street. The truck was last seen with Ontario licence plates AF83151.
