Police Investigating ATV Collision in Thamesville CK16014900

Just before 2:00 a.m. this morning, emergency crews responded to an ATV collision in Ferguson Park. The driver, a 25-year-old Bothwell man failed to negotiate a turn and struck a ditch embankment in the north east corner of the Park. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and his passenger, a 23-year-old Harwich Township man was also injured but able to get help. Both men were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and transferred to London for further medical attention.

The collision remains under investigation by the CKPS Traffic Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Doug Cowell at [email protected] or 519-355-1092.

Man Charged with Break and Enter CK16014859

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. last night, the alarm at Southwest Warehousing on Raleigh Street in Chatham was activated. As employees searched the warehouse, they found the man with 3 backpacks full of copper wire and tools. He entered through an old garage bay door by punching a hole through the panel.

Police were contacted and the man was arrested. The 20-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Theft CK16014858

Last night at 5:30 p.m. the woman entered Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham. She placed $196 worth of steak in a reusable shopping bag and exited the store making no attempt to pay for the meat.

Natalie Marvell, 26 years, of Finch Place in Chatham was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released pending a future court date of June 17, 2016.

Stolen Dirt Bike CK16014823

Sometime yesterday between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a garage on Turnbull Avenue in Wallaceburg causing about $500 damage. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a black and orange KTM 65cc dirt bike valued at $2000.
