Man Arrested for Assault CK17002994

Last night around 8:30 p.m. police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Chatham. Through investigation police learned that the man had assaulted and threatened his adult daughter. No injuries were reported.

The 69 year old Chatham man was located and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was released with a future court date of February 10, 2017.

Single Motor Vehicle Collision CK17003021

Early this morning just before 4:00 a.m. emergency personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Border Road at Wren Line in Wallaceburg. Minor injuries were reported. Total damage value of $25,000.

The collision remains under investigation.

Break and Enter in Blenheim CK17002905

Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning unknown suspect(s) broke the front door window to gain access into an empty commercial building on Talbot Street West. Once inside, lights, ceiling tiles and toilets were damaged. Also, an interior steel door was thrown through the front window. The suspect(s) then climbed the rear fire ladder to gain access to the roof. Two roof-top compressor units were removed and thrown to the parking lot below. One of those units bounced off a guard rail and broke another window on the east side of the building. Damage is estimated at $10,000.

Man Charged with Fail to Comply CK17002903

On August 5, 2015 the man was released from Sarnia Court on conditions to reside at an address on Walpole Island and remain in that residence 24 hours a day unless with his sureties.

Yesterday around 11:00 a.m. the 52 year old, Walpole Island man was located in Erie Beach without any of his sureties present. He was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Traffic Enforcement in Wallaceburg CK17002949

Yesterday afternoon a member of the Traffic Unit observed a motor vehicle travelling eastbound on Base Line at a high rate of speed. The officer recorded the man driving 106km/h in an 80km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and through investigation the officer learned the man was also a suspended driver due to unpaid fines.

The 43 year old Wallaceburg man was charged with speeding and driving while under suspension. His vehicle was towed from the roadway. He will be required to attend court on February 15, 2017.
