Man Breaches Release Conditions CK16023230

On October 30, 2015 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to attend the CKPS Wallaceburg Service Centre every Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to sign-in.

On Friday, July 22, 2016 the man, without lawful excuse, failed to sign-in as per his release conditions.

Yesterday afternoon, the man attended the police station to sign in, two days late. He was previously cautioned for being late earlier in the month and back in April so on this date, Herbie Handsor, 25 years, of Duncan Street in Wallaceburg was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He was released pending a future court date of August 16, 2016.

Woman Taken into Custody for Her Own Safety CK16023210

Yesterday, police responded to the area of Lafontaine Street and Wall Street in Wallaceburg in regards to a suspicious woman acting in a disorderly manner and disturbing members of the public. Officers located the woman under the influence of an illegal substance. Efforts were made to try and assist the woman with finding a safe place for her to go. The woman was uncooperative, therefore, for her own safety, she was taken into custody for breaching the peace as she was unable to care for herself.

The 31-year-old woman of no fixed address will be released when sober.

Liquor Stolen from Local Business CK16023302

This morning, at 5:00 a.m. police responded to an alarm at Crabby Joes Bar and Grill on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Upon arrival, officers found two glass doors had been broken. Through investigation, officers learned that approximately $1000 worth of liquor bottles had been stolen. Damage was estimated at $2000.

Police believe the suspect had a tattoo on his right arm and was wearing a dark hoodie and light coloured shorts.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16023250

Sometime between July 19, 2016 and July 24, 2016 unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a vacant rental home on Prince Street North. Damage to the door was estimated at $500.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a stainless steel fridge with double doors valued at $300.
